Castor oil is never going to disappear from shops. It’s been reigning there for years and won’t allow for the dethronement. Even our great-grandmothers used it. It’s unrivalled in skin and hair care. Also the price makes it so popular as it is one of the cheapest oils commercially available. Moreover, it is sold in almost every chemist and health food store. We are aware of the general use for castor oil. Rubbing in hair, eyebrows, eyelashes, nails and cuticles…
However, it’s a good idea to intensify its properties and combine it with some healthful substances. We would like to recommend two great hair washes with the castor oil.
1. Hair wash – liquorice and castor oil.
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons of liquorice
- 2-3 glasses of water
- 5 ml (one teaspoon) of castor oil
Put the liquorice to a saucepan, pour it with two glasses of cold water and simmer for aprox. 10 minutes. Next, strain the infusion and let it cool off. When the mixture has cooled off, add a teaspoon of castor oil. The hair wash is ready. Now you only have to apply it to washed hair. It should be the last stage of hair care. Pour the hair wash into a bowl or washbasin, bend your head down and immerse your hair in the wash for a while. You should also gently massage the wash in the scalp. There’s no need to rinse it.Your hair will become moisturized, regenerated and shiny as well as lifted at the roots. Both liquorice and castor oil hinder hair loss.
2. Hair wash – sage and castor oil.
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons of dried sage
- 2 glasses of water
- 5 ml (one teaspoon) of castor oil
Pour the sage with two glasses of hot (not boiling) water, cover it and infuse for 15 minutes. Strain the infusion and let it cool off. Add 5 ml of castor oil. Apply the hair wash the way the previous one is applied – after washing hair, as a last stage of hair care.
Liquorice and castor oil hair wash gently straightens hair, conditions it and makes styling easier. Hair won’t get frizzy but shiny and bouncy instead.
Be careful! This hair wash is meant for dark hair because it may change the colur of too light strands. Women who have blonde hair can add a few drops of oil to a camomile infusion.
